Canterbury Fracture Liaison Service

Christchurch Hospitals located in Addington, New Zealand, is a public hospital system with a network of two hospitals serving more than 600,000 people. The fracture liaison service is in the orthopedic/geriatric medicine department and manages all fragility fractures (including hip, inpatient, outpatient and vertebral fractures). More than 1000 fracture patients are seen per year. The programme is led by Dr. John Geddes who specializes in geriatrics.


 

Middlemore Hospital

Counties Manukau Health has three hospital sites. Middlemore Hospital is the main hospital, with satellite sites being the Manukau Surgical Centre and Pukekohe Hospital.

Our FLS is Orthogeriatrician lead, and we have access to DEXA scans through our Bone Density Service as well as to Falls and Osteoporosis Clinic.

Ageing Bone Research Program, The University of Sydney & Nepean Hospital, Penrith, NSW

Nepean Hospital in Sydney, Australia is a public university teaching hospital with a surrounding population of 450,000 people. The Fracture Liaison Service is led by Professor Gustavo Duque and services all fragility fractures, handling around 850 patients per year.
