The Haywood Hospital is located in Burslem in Stoke-on-Trent, UK, and is part of the Midland Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The Haywood Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) is a research active service, directed by lead clinician Dr. Z Paskins, and assesses over 2000 people a year with all fragility fractures (inpatient, outpatient, hip and vertebral). The Haywood is a teaching hospital serving a community of around 500,000 people.

Waterford Regional Hospital

The FLS at the University Hospital Waterford (UHW) is run on a part-time basis by a Rheumatology Consultant, working with a part-time Clinical Nurse Specialist who also carries out the DXA scans. Admitted cases also have part-time orthogeriatrican input, and a hip fracture care pathway is managed by a Clinical Nurse Specialist. UHW has over 1000 cases of the main fragility fractures (hip, pelvis, vertebra, humerus) admitted annually. The service is complex, interacting with four other hospitals in the region for orthopaedic referrals and for post-fracture care.
