The health care section at region Gävleborg is a hospital and primary care network serving a population of 280,000 people. Our fracture liaison service has been running since early 2015 and handles all fragility fractures and has been designed to serve about 2100 patients per year.

Hospital Universitario Rio Hortega
The University Hospital of Rio Hortega began implementing an Orthogeriatric Unit and Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) in 2012. Led by the Orthogeriatric Unit, the FLS has progressively incorporated cooperation with other hospital departments. Currently the FLS tracks approximately 1000 fractures annually. However, there is still much work to be done to capture all patients with fragility fractures.
Instituto de Ortopedia e Traumatologia FMUSP
We are a group made up of Physiatrists, Orthopedists, Geriatricians, Rheumatologists and Clinicians, with assistants and residents of all those specialties. In addition, we have the support of Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Psychologists and Speech Therapists. Every Wednesday, we participate in a meeting of Geriatric group, which discusses all the patients who were hospitalized during the week, and we talk about surgical management, medication management and rehabilitation.
