The Taranaki Fracture Liaison Service (FLS), operating under Health New Zealand, Taranaki exemplifies excellence in secondary fracture prevention. Established in June 2022, this service is dedicated to the care of patients over 50 who have suffered fragility fractures due to low-impact incidents. Tarnaki FLS offers comprehensive care including future fracture risk assessment, falls assessment, health education, and referrals for bone density scans and osteoporosis identification.
The Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University was established in 1958. It is the affiliated hospital of Central South University and also a nationally budgeted and managed hospital by the National Health Commission. The hospital covers an area of more than 173,333 square meters with a total of 3,630 beds. It currently has 5,242 employees, including 883 (associate) professors. The hospital handles a maximum annual emergency department volume of 3.948 million visits, with 186,000 discharged patients and approximately 146,000 surgeries performed.
We run a shared care model between the West Coast and Canterbury.
Hip/Complex fractures are transferred from the West Coast to Christchurch Hospital for surgery.
我々のOLS「柏方式」の特徴は、全身の脆弱性骨折に対応する、幾多の急性期病院において運用と継続が可能な(汎用性を持たせた)、多面的な機能（多職種による薬物・運動・栄養療法・医療連携等)を有する骨粗鬆症リエゾンサービスである。40歳以上の骨折入院患者をガイドラインに準じて全例評価し、治療該当患者の主治医に個別の骨折リスク要因と薬物推奨レベルが記載された薬物治療計画書を用い治療を提言するという方法を用いて、骨折後の薬物治療率を９0％以上にまで可能とした。また独自の骨折予防パンフレットを用い多職種による専門的指導を行なっている。骨粗鬆症専門外来を有し骨粗鬆症二次検診を行うとともに、健診・人間ドックでの一次検診も行なっている。全てのデータは適切なデータベースで管理され、各職種の分析・評価とともに病院年報として公開しており、更に全国レベルのデータ管理システムにも登録している。
Our FLS team is working hard to decrease fractures from 2017. Our hospital has three OLS coordinators. Ratio of postoperative therapy in osteoporosis is about 100%. Our dream is to eradicate an osteoporosis fracture.

The Fracture Liaison Service at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust is situated in secondary care with a population of 200,000 people covering a wide area from West and North Yorkshire to East Lancashire, all close to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The Fracture Liaison Service was started in October 2019. Due to the Covid pandemic the service was paused for 5 months in both 2020 and 2021.

The Osteopod FLS clinic is built at the Shafa Yahyaian Educational and Clinical Centre of Iran University of Medical Sciences. We are working in collaboration with the Osteoporosis Research Center. All the osteoporotic fractures are being followed regularly according to FLS protocol and treatment of the patients is organized. We have a full-time nurse as a coordinator for FLS in a room dedicated to FLS fully equipped.
Chia-Yi Christian Hospital is a regional hospital located in Chia-Yi city, a county in southwestern Taiwan. We serving over 500,000 local residents including Chia-Yi county, the most aged city in Taiwan that the elderly constitute over 20% population. More than 1500 patients come to our hospital for treatment of fragile fractures, such as hip, vertebra and wrist fractures. Only 30 % patients received anti-osteoporotic treatment that accounting for higher re-fracture risk.
