Waitemata District Health Board Fracture Liaison Service has been running since 2012, and was one of the first FLSs established in New Zealand. The service has progressively grown and matured over the years and cover a population of about 600,000 people living in Northern and Western parts of Auckland, New Zealand, and take pride in being one of the leading FLSs in the country.

Sanatorio Las Lomas
El CEM ( Centro de Endocrinología, Nutrición y Diabetes) del Sanatorio Las Lomas, es el primer FLS de la Argentina, habiendo iniciado su participación en el programa en el año 2017.
Contamos con 875 pacientes con fracturas por fragilidad en tratamiento y seguimiento, habiendo obtenido una reducción importante de la tasa de refractura.
Captamos a los pacientes recientemente fracturados desde los diferentes servicios de consultorios externos, departamento de imágenes, emergencias médicas e internación, siendo estudiados en el servicio de Endocrinología.
Erasmus Medical Center
The Fracture Liaison Service of the Erasmus Medical Center Rotterdam has been initiated by Dr Carola Zillikens, who currently directs the EMC Bone Center. The FLS has been fully operational since 2014. In March 2016 it has been credited with, in the Netherlands currently the only , GOLD standard .
Bærum Hospital
Serving a population of 185.000, Baerum Hospital, Norway, is a public and teaching hospital with a Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) since 2015. It provides services to all fragility fractures in Asker and Baerum municipalities, and all patients 50 years and older are assessed for secondary fracture prevention. The hospital’s Orthopaedic department has 10 senior orthopaedic surgeons, 9 residents and 8 interns who all participate in assessing patients with a capture rate of nearly 90%. During 2016, only 10% of all eligible patients were captured secondarily by FLS nurses using patient lists.
Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital
Directed by lead clinician Dr. Chung-Hwan Chen, the Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital Fracture Liaison Service has been running since 2015. The Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital is located in Southern Taiwan and serves a population of around 300,000 people. The fracture liaison service handles all fragility fractures and serves about 140 patients per year.
We have conducted some basic and clinical studies about the pathogenesis, prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.
Complejo Hospitalario Universitario de Santiago de Compostela
Directed by lead clinician Dr. José R. Caeiro Rey, the Orthogeriatric and Fracture Liaison Service Unit of Santiago de Compostela University Hospital has been running since 2012, and 2015 respectively. This hospital is located in Santiago de Compostela, Spain and serves a population of around 465,000 people.
Hospital of Drammen
Here’s a great example from Norway, where May-Britt Stenbro, Osteoporosis Coordinator and Project Nurse in NoFRACT at the Drammen Hospital and Orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Frede Frihagen at Oslo University Hospital, were featured in an extended interview on TV2’s ‘Good Morning Norway’.
