In het ADRZ worden fractuurpatienten ouder dan 50 jaar uitgenodigd voor screening op osteoporose. Patiënten kunnen een oproep verwachten binnen 3 maanden na hun eerste presentatie in het ziekenhuis, tenzij zij woonachtig zijn buiten onze regio, er sprake is van een pathologische fractuur of er recent een screening naar osteoporose is gedaan.

A service that encompasses multidisciplinary services that provide fall and fracture risk assessment and secondary prevention of osteoporosis in patients aged >60 years. We received referrals (in- and outpatient) mainly from the Orthopedic, Medical and Surgical wards as well as from the Emergency department.

FLS is  built up at Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department of Ege University. We are working in collaboration with the Orthopedic Surgery and Neurosurgery Department, the departments responsible for the operations of hip , vertebral and other osteoporotic fractures for the last two years. All of the osteoporotic fractures are being followed regularly according to FLS procedures and treatment of the patients is organized. We have a medical biologist working full time as a coordinator for FLS in a room dedicated to FLS fully equipped.
