A Consulta de Fraturas de Fragilidade do Serviço de Reumatologia do Centro Hospitalar de Lisboa Ocidental está em funcionamento desde 2024 no Hospital Egas Moniz. É coordenada pela Dra. Manuela Costa, em colaboração com a Enfermeira Fátima Pereira, e desenvolve-se em articulação com os Serviços de Neurocirurgia e Ortopedia. O objetivo desta consulta é garantir um acompanhamento especializado e multidisciplinar a pessoas com fraturas de fragilidade, promovendo a prevenção de novas fraturas e a melhoria da qualidade de vida.

The Department of Osteointernal Medicine of Fuzhou Second General Hospital was officially established in January 2021. It is the earliest hospital in Fujian Province to set up this orthopedic subspecialty and currently the only one of its kind in the province.

We have had a nurse led fracture liaison service in operation since 2010 and have published the cost effectiveness of the service. Patients who are over the age of 50y that present with fragility fractures to the Royal Melbourne Hospital are identified by a fracture liaison nurse who provides a request for DXA scan, a blood test to screen for secondary causes of bone fragility and an appointment with an osteoporosis physician in a weekly fracture liaison service clinic. The clinician determines the therapy and follow up with the patient and monitors for treatment side effects.

Haiphong International Hospital is a multiple departments hospital located in Northern Vietnam. Our Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) was established in 2024 as a multidisciplinary program aiming to reduce secondary fragility fractures. The FLS team includes physicians (orthopedics, rheumatologist, internal medicine doctors and physiatrists), administrator, and emergency rescue. We manage both inpatient and outpatient fractures.
