Chengdu Fifth People's Hospital, founded in 1938, In 2011, the former Chengdu Geriatric Hospital was incorporated. In 2019, it was designated as the "Fifth People's Hospital Affiliated to Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine." In 2021, it added the titles of "Chengdu Institute of Geriatric Diseases" and "Chengdu Cancer Prevention and Treatment Institute." After 87 years of construction and development, the hospital has grown into a National Chest Pain Center, National Advanced Stroke Center, National Heart Failure Center, Chengdu Western Critical Maternal/Newborn Rescue Center, and Chengdu Western Trauma Emergency Center. It has become a tertiary Grade A comprehensive hospital specializing in cancer prevention and treatment and comprehensive geriatric care, integrating medical care, teaching, research, prevention, rehabilitation, and emergency services. It serves as the "Western Chengdu Regional Medical Center," radiating nearly 7 million people in Dayi, Chongzhou, Dujiangyan, Qionglai, and the Min River Basin, with Wenjiang as its base.
