中国労災病院 Chugoku Rosai Hospital
Our Osteoporosis Working Group at Chugoku Rosai Hospital is a multidisciplinary team dedicated to comprehensive fracture prevention and high-quality osteoporosis care. Chugoku Rosai Hospital is a 410-bed acute care facility, with around 100 orthopedic inpatients per day and approximately 2,000 orthopedic surgeries annually, including over 600 fracture fixation procedures and more than 200 hip fracture operations each year.
We actively admit older adults with acute low back pain, systematically identify clinical vertebral fractures and provide structured conservative management while initiating secondary fracture prevention. We also function as a hospital-based fracture liaison service, ensuring that patients with vertebral and hip fractures receive appropriate evaluation, evidence-based pharmacotherapy and fall-prevention strategies.
Through regional care pathways for hip and clinical vertebral fractures, we collaborate closely with local convalescent hospitals to maintain continuity of osteoporosis treatment after the acute phase. Standardized protocols, regular multidisciplinary meetings and ongoing staff education support optimization of therapy selection, adherence and monitoring. Our Working Group also contributes to clinical research and regional outreach, aiming to disseminate best practice and reduce the burden of fragility fractures in our aging community.
