Sahlgrenska University Hospital Mölndal

The Sahlgrenska University Hospital Mölndal coordinator based FLS was established in 2014 and now includes patients, 50 years and older with any clinical fracture. AI-based screening on X-ray reports is used to identify patients with vertebral fractures not captured in registers. All other clinical fractures are identifed using the Swedish Fracture register. Nearly 6000 fracture patients are identified yearly. Patients are offered bone densitometry (DXA) and treatment is provided within the FLS or through recommendations (after fracture risk assessment and bone densitometry) to primary care physicians. Hip fracture patients are evaluated before discharge and started on antiresorptive treatment (denosumab) if appropriate.
