Heath New Zealand, Capital and Coast - Kapiti
Health New Zealand, Capital and Coast - Kapiti Fracture Liaison Service was launched in February 2024. This service is the second Fracture Liaison service established in the Wellington Region following the successful launch of the Hutt Valley FLS in August 2022. This service provides support to a population of approximately 57,700 people living in the Kapiti Coast area located in the lower North Island approximately 50 km north of Wellington City.
The Fracture Liaison Service is closely affiliated with the Orthopaedic/Geriatric Department and manages all fragility fractures. We take pride in being one of the first FLS services in NZ to have prescribing capacity within the service supported by a Geriatrician, Nurse Practitioner, Prescribing Pharmacist and Clinical Nurse Specialist.
