Hospital Universitario Rey Juan Carlos

The Rey Juan Carlos University Hospital in Móstoles opened in 2012, and since then, one of its main priorities has been delivering the highest quality care to patients with fragility fractures, particularly hip fractures. Our Fracture Prevention Unit stands out for its coordinated, multidisciplinary approach, with a dedicated Orthogeriatrics Unit at its core. We firmly believe that multidisciplinary teamwork is essential in managing these complex patients. That is why we work in close coordination across multiple specialties—including Geriatrics, Traumatology, Anesthesiology, Rehabilitation, Rheumatology, and Primary Care—as well as among a wide range of professionals such as doctors, nurses, nurse assistants, social workers, physiotherapists, pharmacist.

We understand that our responsibility goes beyond treating the initial fracture. We are deeply committed to preventing subsequent fractures by maximizing secondary prevention strategies. These include both pharmacological treatments and non-pharmacological measures such as tailored physical activity programs and nutritional guidance. This comprehensive, patient-centered approach allows us to offer effective, sustainable care and significantly improve patient outcomes.
