In our department there are approximaly hospitalized 600 patients with hip fractures.
More than 70% of the patients are treated surgically within 48 hours from the admittance.
During the hospitalization patients are also evaluated by geriatric team.
We perform blood 1° livel exam and evaluetion of value of vitamin D.
If necessary we correct ipovitamonosi D .
Patient are than referred to the osteoporosis team after discharge.
