Canterbury and West Coast Hospitals in New Zealand, are a public hospital system with a network of both rehab and acute hospitals serving more than 700,000 people.
The fracture liaison service is in the orthopaedic/geriatric medicine department based at Burwood Hospital managing fragility fractures (including hip, inpatient, outpatient and vertebral fractures). More than 2000 patients are seen per year. The programme is led by Dr. Claire O’Leary who specializes in geriatrics.
