Wellington Regional Hospital
The Wellington Fracture Liaison Service was established in April 2024. This service was the third service in the Wellington region, joining the Hutt Valley and Kapiti Fracture Liaison Services.This service provides support to a population of approximately 296,000 people in the southern part of the North Island of New Zealand.
The Fracture Liaison Service is closely affiliated with the Orthopaedic and Geriatric Departments and manages all fragility fractures (including hip, inpatient and outpatient and vertebral fractures). We take pride in being one of the first FLS in NZ to have prescribing capacity within the service supported by a Geriatrician and Prescribing Pharmacist and Clinical Nurse specialist.
