Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

A five-site Central London Trust, with a Major Trauma Centre, serving a local NW London population of approximately 700,000.

The FLIC (Fracture Liaison Imperial College) service was commissioned in late 2019, and sits within the Specialist Medicine Directorate. The service is Nurse Specialist-led, and systematically ensures all eligible patients presenting with a potential fragility fracture are ‘captured’, assessed and managed to optimise bone health and outcomes.

Drawing on the team’s extensive experience of providing high quality fracture liaison in other localities, the Imperial service design has been carefully constructed to reflect the Gold Standard best practice for UK FLS.
