Successful FLS Café held as an OsteoAcademy Special Session
The OsteoAcademy, organized by the Turkish Osteoporosis Society, brought together approximately 270 physicians specializing in osteoporosis—including PMR specialists, orthopedists, endocrinologists, and others. The event took place at The Arkın Hotel in İskele (Trikomo), Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, from 23–26 October 2025.
A standout feature of the program was the FLS Café, held on 23 October from 14:00 to 15:30.
This special session focused on an Interactive Exchange of Experience from FLS Centers in Türkiye, offering participants a platform to share real-world insights. Representatives from multiple Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) centers discussed their experiences and challenges with digitalization, particularly through the FracTurk platform.
The session was moderated by Türkiye’s five mentors: Prof. Dr. Şansın Tüzün, Prof. Dr. Ülkü Akarırmak, Prof. Dr. Yeşim G. Kutsal, Prof. Dr. Yeşim Kirazlı, and Prof. Dr. Dilşad Sindel. The interactive format fostered open dialogue on practical barriers, data integration, and strategies for adapting FLS processes to local needs, all with the goal of enhancing post-fracture care nationwide.
Presentations were delivered by representatives from six active FLS Centers: Prof. Dr. Özlem El, Prof. Dr. Belgin Erhan, Prof. Dr. Semra Aktürk, Prof. Dr. Duygu Geler Külcü, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Canan Şanel, and PMR Specialist Dr. Hande Özdemir. In addition, Prof. Dr. Ülkü Akarırmak, IOF Representative Member, presented on “The Importance of FLS within the Framework of WOD 2025.”
Capture the Fracture® extends its gratitude to the dedicated mentors and FLS experts whose contributions made this workshop both productive and impactful, further advancing FLS training and excellence in Türkiye.
