Our Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) is a dedicated secondary fracture prevention program based in the Department of Traumatic Geriatric Orthopedics, Xi'an Honghui Hospital, a national leading center for geriatric orthopedic trauma in Northwest China.We fully implement the IOF Capture the Fracture® framework for fragility fracture patients, with a focus on geriatric hip fracture: 100% of admitted elderly fracture patients are systematically screened via electronic medical records. All patients receive comprehensive bone health assessment, including BMD testing, secondary osteoporosis cause screening, and fall risk evaluation.A dedicated FLS coordinator manages guideline-aligned anti-osteoporosis treatment initiation, 12-month follow-up, medication adherence monitoring, and lifestyle intervention. We collaborate closely with endocrinology, geriatrics, and rehabilitation departments to deliver holistic care. Our FLS has significantly reduced secondary fracture rates, improved long-term outcomes, and serves as a regional model for geriatric fragility fracture care.
