Santo Borromeus

Santo Borromeus is a private hospital located in West Java, Indonesia, and is recognized for its Centre of Excellence in Orthopaedics. With comprehensive orthopaedic facilities and multidisciplinary clinical support, our hospital provides integrated care for patients with musculoskeletal injuries, including fragility fractures.

Our Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) was developed to improve secondary fracture prevention and ensure that patients with low energy trauma or suspected osteoporotic fractures receive timely assessment, treatment, education, and follow-up. The service is led by a dedicated FLS coordinator and supported by an established patient identification pathway across emergency care, inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, orthopaedic services, and radiology. This enables eligible patients to be systematically identified and enrolled into the FLS pathway.

Patients are assessed for osteoporosis, future fracture risk, fall risk, functional status, and rehabilitation needs. Bone mineral density assessment using DXA/BMD is available, and treatment is guided by our osteoporosis management protocol. Depending on clinical needs, patients may receive pharmacological osteoporosis therapy, calcium and vitamin D optimization, lifestyle and nutrition advice, fall prevention education, and referral to rehabilitation or other specialist services.

Our FLS includes scheduled follow-up to monitor treatment initiation, adherence, clinical progress, rehabilitation, and ongoing fracture risk. We also maintain an FLS registry to support patient tracking, continuity of care, service monitoring, audit, and quality improvement.

As a leading private orthopaedic centre in West Java, our goal is to provide coordinated post-fracture care, reduce the risk of subsequent fractures, and improve long-term outcomes for patients and their families.
