The Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) at JSS Hospital, Mysuru, has been established as a structured secondary fracture prevention programme, initially focusing on patients presenting with fragility fractures of the hip.
The primary objective is to identify patients with osteoporosis-related fractures, ensure timely evaluation and treatment, and reduce the risk of subsequent fragility fractures.
The programme adopts a multidisciplinary approach involving the Departments of Endocrinology Orthopaedics, Geriatrics, Physiotherpy and Nutrition with an emphasis on continuity of care beyond the management of the index fracture.
