 In 2019 an FLS was implemented in a small hospital (235 inpatient beds) that is the only hospital in the region. The FLS identified adults aged over 50 with fragility fractures of wrist, proximal humerus, spine and proximal femur and patients aged over 80 with all  fractures. All Patients recieve required blood measurements and an X-ray of the lumbar spine. The FLS coordinator visits all patients and provides information material about osteoporosis. Every two weeks an osteologists visits the hospital and all patients with fragility fractures are seen in a common ward round. According to the german guidlines they are either referred to a local osteologist by the FLS nurse for DXA scan and ongoing treatment or they recieve a treatment recommendation in the latter of discharge if no dxa scan is reqired. Some recieve treatment during hospital stay.
