Our Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) operates within Mafasel Clinic, a specialized multidisciplinary center dedicated to comprehensive bone, joint, and musculoskeletal health. The clinic provides integrated care across orthopedics, rheumatology, endocrinology, internal medicine, physiotherapy, radiology, psychiatry, an orthosis and prosthetics unit, and dedicated procedure and intravenous treatment facilities.

The FLS systematically identifies patients aged 50 years and older presenting with fragility fractures and ensures timely assessment and secondary fracture prevention. Patients undergo comprehensive evaluation including fracture risk assessment, bone health investigations, bone mineral density testing when indicated, laboratory screening, and falls risk assessment.

Individualized management plans are developed in accordance with international osteoporosis guidelines and include pharmacological therapy, calcium and vitamin D optimization, lifestyle modification, rehabilitation, and falls prevention strategies. Close collaboration between orthopedic surgeons, medical specialists, allied health professionals, and primary care providers ensures continuity of care and long-term follow-up.

Through this integrated model, the FLS aims to reduce secondary fracture risk, improve patient outcomes, and promote awareness of osteoporosis and fracture prevention within the community.
