Prince of Wales Hospital

Established in July 2019, the Fracture Liaison Service at the Prince of Wales Hospital serves as a major public teaching hospital hub within the Hong Kong Hospital Authority's New Territories East Cluster. Our FLS employs a multidisciplinary approach, involving orthogeriatrician,  utilizing dedicated nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists under the guidance of the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology. We proactively identify over 400 fragility fracture patients annually, focusing on patients over 65. By integrating our protocols with the hospital's electronic medical records and radiology IT systems, our service aims to close the secondary fracture prevention care gap through timely DXA assessments, fall prevention education, and targeted pharmacological interventions
