New FLS

The fracture liaison service of Deyang People's Hospital aims to fill the gap in preventing secondary fractures for patients with brittle fractures. Case identification is triggered by the emergency department, the bone care outpatient clinic, the bone ward, and the radiology reporting system. All patients with brittle fractures undergo assessment according to a standardized process, which combines bone density testing, fall risk screening, bone metabolism markers, and imaging examinations. The fracture liaison nurse conducts an assessment for each patient at the bedside and assists in initiating anti-osteoporosis drug treatment based on the situation. Patients are followed up by phone and in-person visits at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months, and the incidence of fracture recurrence and mortality are statistically analyzed annually and recorded in a database. This service is provided jointly by the bone fracture liaison nurses, endocrinologists, and rehabilitation therapists.
