King Faisal General Hospital (KFGH)

KFGH-FLS is an endocrinology-led service at King Faisal General Hospital, Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia, focused on osteoporosis assessment, management, and secondary fracture prevention.

The existing endocrinology clinic receives referrals from primary healthcare services for osteoporosis evaluation and treatment, including patients with a history of fragility fractures.

The service is developing a structured Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) pathway to systematically identify eligible patients, assess fracture risk, initiate appropriate investigations and treatment, and coordinate follow-up care.

The planned FLS model includes a designated coordinator, standardized clinical documentation, and a patient registry to support continuity of care, treatment monitoring, and quality improvement.

The service aims to improve osteoporosis management, strengthen coordination across healthcare services, and reduce the risk of subsequent fragility fractures.
