Directed by lead clinicians Dr. Rodriguez Solis,Dra Teresa Pareja Sierra and Dr Guijarro, the Orthogeriatrics Unit in University Hospital of Guadalajara  has been running since 2007. The public district hospital is located near to Madrid and serves a population of around 250,000 people, half of them from rural areas. The fracture liaison service handles about 250 patients over 75 years with hip fracture each.The multidisciplinary treatment has allowed in this 10 year experience to reduce hospital mortality due to medical complications, hospital stay and  it has  improved ratios of  osteoporosis assesment and treatment  after the fragility fracure
